Don't miss the biggest two-day summer shopping spree of the year for bargains, discounts, and ideas for Christmas gifts and all your holidays needs. This year, as every year, stores on the "Avenues" will celebrate from 10am to 5pm Friday, July 21st and Saturday July 22nd. Participating stores will offer entry forms for competition to win gift baskets donated by various downtown businesses. Shoppers can enjoy traveling on the free Christmas Trolley winding past all the shops downtown.

Come out and help fun the Bradentucky Bombers trip to play Mother State Roller Derby in November.

It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Join Snooty the Manatee for his FREE outdoor event - rain or shine! This annual event will celebrate Snooty's birthday and promote wildlife awareness. The outdoor event is held in the Spanish Plaza, in the museum's north parking lot by the Manatee River and in front of the museum on 10th Street West. The celebration will feature children's games and art activities, free cookies and drinks for the children, the Snooty the Manatee mascot contest and much more. Admission to the bithday party in the Spanish plaza is free. All day reduced admission prices to the museum, aquarium, and planeteriaum are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (65 and over), $7 for children ages 4 - 12, and children under 4 are free with paying adult. Museum members are free for all daily museum admission - including during Snooty's Birthday bash.

Registration will start at 6pm and the mile will start at 7pm. The Scnitzel Trailer will be out front from 5pm to 10pm serving up some tasty bites. Sign ups are $20 and include 4 Poolside 12 oz cans during the Craft Beer Mile and 1 ice cold draft after running the mile. There will be prizes!! What is a beer mile? Watch as the Bradenton Marauders take on the Clearwater Threshers! There will be a Star Wars character from the 501st Legion, Star Wars themed jersey auction (with a portion of the proceed benefiting Goodwill) and post-game fireworks! Tickets are $15 each and $5 per ticket will be going back to Goodwill. Also, each ticket includes a FREE Marauders hat and 32 ounce souvenir cup with a one free fountain drink refill. Tickets must be purchased in advance to take advantage of this special offer.
